Our Review

OnePlus 6 seems to be the Big Daddy in town and it certainly stands out in terms of design, performance and camera quality. It doesn’t look or feel out of place when compared to its counterparts. Not only this, the OnePlus 6 is an impressive improvement over its predecessor, the OnePlus 5.

What we have as a replacement is an attractive design, solid camera and not just a cosmetic update with minor changes when it comes to specifications. The software is versatile and latest which is significant, if you are looking for longevity. It comes with a new processor, corning Gorilla screen, latest display and contemporary looks, almost competing with iPhone X (Review), Samsung Galaxy S9+ (Review), and Sony Xperia XZ2. Surprisingly, the cost has increased marginally when compared to its predecessor.

OnePlus features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and rear in each of its variants. The three variants give a different feel owing to its excellent construction quality. While OnePlus claims to have introduced a “water resistant” smartphone, there’s no official IPxx rating to prove the same.

When compared to other flagship phones in this range, the OnePlus 6’s major shortcomings an IP-rated weatherproof body, wireless charging, an HDR screen, stereo speakers, 3D face or iris recognition, Artificial Intelligence enhancements and HDR video recording. The camera performance is not that promising and battery life could have been better.

Positives Negatives
  • Powerful cameras
  • Hassle free Android interface
  • Attractive glass design
  • No expandable storage
  • Single  speaker
  • Lack of HDR resolution
