Stanford University also dominates in short term segment. It offers over 200 courses in the USA spanning in more than 40 fields. These courses are covered in six to eight weeks, eight weeks for the summer program and 6 weeks for the executive program. You will have to select a course from their two main program heads: Summer Tutor Program and Academic Advising.
The fees for the UG summer programs including the total expenses covering tuition fees, accommodation, and miscellaneous expenses can cost you around $14,000 to $18,000. For the graduate program, the expenses can be around $16,000 to $20,000 whereas, for the Stanford GSB executive program, the tuition fees are approximately $65,000 USD.
With over 300 courses, Harvard is another giant in providing short term courses at both graduate and undergraduate level. The courses include Arts, humanities, & social sciences, Business, Computer science, maths, and engineering, Sciences, Foreign languages & literature, Writing & journalism, Judgment and Decision Making, Money, Financial Institutions and Markets, Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, The Art of Communication.
These courses are conducted in the span of one to three week. These courses cost around $14000 to $16000, including housing and miscellaneous expenses.
The catch here is the amount of credit you earn, thus as a student, you will be enrolled full time with 8 credits to be eligible for the F-1 student visa. Registrations for the programs open by January of the given year.
John Hopkins University:
John Hopkins University offers more than 200 short term courses. It includes certificate programs offered both in its Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. The programs are provided across all its departments which include innovative subjects like Applied Behaviour Analysis, Business of Health Care, Climate Change, Energy, Sustainability and International Studies, among others. In order to apply for a short course at the JHU, candidates will require a writing sample, SAT or ACT score, English proficiency test scores, two letters of recommendations.
The courses at JHU generally lasts about four to five weeks and are conducted in two terms, Term 1 is held between May to June and term 2 between June to July.
University of Chicago
The University of Chicago offers approximately 30 subjects to study and most of the programs are available for international students, too.
The duration of the course is between three to five weeks for the summer school programmes and over three weeks for the executive level programmes.
To apply in this University, you need to take proficiency tests like IELTS and TOEFL by April end as most of the summer session classes begin by June. Also, the Tuition fee for the summer courses will be around $12,000 to $15,000 depending on the subject.
