ENACTUS is an International non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action.
Under its aegis, Saheed Bhagaat Singh student (SBSC) students strive to create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the centre of improving their livelihoods.
In October 2104, Enactus SBSC started its adventure with its maiden venture:
1) Project Karva.
‘The initial plan of the project was to connect the two communities of the migrant potters and the underprivileged women at the NGO: Streebal. While the migrant potters would request the women at the NGO to help them paint the pots in intricate designs and then ESBSC sell it to the customers and the amount was donated to NGO to help the unprivileged women’.
Project Karva is in its final leg, and is soon about to become a self-run business by both the communities.
2) Project Roshni –
It is ESBSC’S second venture which was launched in March 2016. It aims to empower the visually impaired at the Janata Rehabilitation Training Centre, who with our help have been taught the art of candle making.
With the help of sales drives and strategic tie-ups with different companies, the SBSC team were able to boost their sales.
3) Project Aahar –
Project Aahar is SBSC’s third project which aims to provide employment opportunities to seasonally employed migrant workers from the neighbouring states of Delhi. These migrant workers are taught and trained to run their own operation of food stalls in various parts around Delhi & NCR, particularly slums.
These food stalls shall serve fresh, hygienic, nutritious and healthy food at a minimal amount; catering to people (laborers, rickshaw-wallas etc.) who do not have access to it.
